The Ascent Continues

Well if having www.printabledecoupage.com in the top 10 in Google Search Results for “Printable Decoupage” was not good enough, then you will be happy to know that the site is not only now NUMBER 2 but this listing also has an indented result below it for a sub page on the site.

Indented results are great, in fact they have been said to double traffic if in the right position. While having always seen them their it was not until after I had watched a video, produced by the StomperNet guys, that I really saw and understood how to achieve this kind of results. I am going to try hunt down this video and if its still publicly accessible, will update this post with a link to it.

Also, www.hingemarketingmagicreview.com has moved from NUMBER 2 to NUMBER 1 for “hinge marketing magic”. This is a great result for the Google Juice It! Experiment!

Dominating Google Top 10

OK, so “dominating” may be a little dramatic, but I’m well chuffed, especially after having my Hub Page banned. Just checked out my rankings for “Hinge Marketing Magic” in Google and what do you know, as predicted, my HubPage which was at number 3 has been removed, but my review site is now not only indexed but ranked at NUMBER 2 in Google search results for “Hinge Marketing Magic”

One of our sister “Experiment Blogs” is also featured at NUMBER 5 and a WordPress Tag result is at NUMBER 3. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Dam We’re good!

A Fine Line

I’m pissed off, but have learnt a lesson.
So, today I’m checking out Google Search Results for the www.hinemarketingmagicreview.com site keyword “Hinge Marketing Magic” and got really excited to see the Hub Page I created, linking to my review site, ranked at Number 3. So I click on the link and get a “This Hub is no longer published” message. I log in to find a notification saying the following:

Overly Promotional: This Hub excessively promotes another site.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I understand where HubPages are coming from, but this does mean that the next time the googlebot crawls this hub it will most likely end up removing it from the index.

The lesson learnt, well there is a fine line between valuable content and promotional shite! I crossed that line and having now added more content value to the HubPage and re-submitted for approval, I can only hope that they re-publish this HubPage.

So If you are creating pages to link to your main site, make sure they add value and spend that extra 30 minutes setting up to do so, it will be worth it.

BTY www.hingemarketingmagicreview.comis not yet in the Google index.

We are already in the Google Top 10

Just checked the search stats for www.printabledecoupage.comand low and behold we are already on the first page in Google, and not just the first page mind you, the Top 3. In fact number 3 for our primary search term “Printable Decoupage”. So excited so have not yet checked the rest of our keywords, but this is a great result! Especially considering these statistics:

Wordtracker KEI for “Printable Decoupage”: 13.48
Searches for “Printable Decoupage” per day: 422 
Google search results for “Printable Decoupage”: 55,600 (We are in the top 3 of these!)

So, in a nutshell:

• Website published on the 17th of April 2008
• Website index on the 18th of April 2008
• Website in Top 3 in Google Search results on the 23rd of April 2008

Dam I’m good! Now, how to monetize this site?

www.hingemarketingmagicreview.com is LIVE!

OK, it’s a first for me, a typical eBook, information product sales review page, which I must admit I am a bit cynical about, maybe that’s just because I have bought so much crap through similar page. Anyway, the www.hingmarketingmagicreview.com site is now up. It is an honest review and must say the Hinge Marketing system is simple and very clever.

The GJuiceIt Mapcan be viewed here, don’t know what that is, then read earlier posts. At time of publishing this post, Bubbl.us is giving an invalid URL. I have emailed their support, hopefully they can resolve it soon.

Google has indexed www.printabledecoupage.com

Just checked my Google Webmaster report and www.printabledecoupage.com has been indexed which means it took just 1 day to get indexed!

 

Right now it is just the home page that is included in googles index. not quite sure why they did not follow the rest of the links in the site to find all other pages, maybe on the next indexing they will, keep tabs on it here.

Programming for SEO

As I am now starting to build the websites I thought I’d take a moment to give some points around my personal preferences when Programming for SEO. To see these in action check out www.printabledecoupage.com

1. File extension dont really matter, Whether it’s .htm, .html, .php or .aspx Search engines don’t really care. I build sites using ASP.net so my extension are usually .aspx. That said, try avoid long query string at the end.
2. Name your pages according to Keywords and Topics
3. Use Divs instead of Tables for structure and use CSS to setup layout and styles. Divs allow you to put the most import content closer to the top whereas tables can muddle things up. Use tables for tabular display, that’s what they are there for!
4. Name for pages (Titles in an indented format, eg Home Page Title “Printable Decoupage”, Free Decoupage Prints page title “Printable Decoupage | Free Decoupage Prints. This contributes to getting indented listings in the search results.

I will post more tips under this subject as I get more into things.

I have just completed my first draft of the www.printabledecoupage.comwebsite. It’s a bit thin on content right now but just wanted to get a first draft up so I can get it submitted to Google and while I wait for it to be indexed I can spend more time working on the content (There is enough content there now to get indexed).

For each website in the Google Juice It experiment, I will keep an organic GJuiceItMap which outlines task, external and internal links. Click here to view the GJuiceIt Map. I will only start working more on external inbound links once I have more use full content on the site.

I created a blog for this site at Blogger which is now under review by Blogger for violating their Terms and Conditions. For what I have no idea, I mean it’s Decoupage for goodness sake! Anyway I have posted on their Newsgroup to try and get the blog back up and running.

Amazon Rocks

This post is just a sideline to the experiment. I have always beleived in the Amazon assciate program, not only because it makes me money, but because I love the tools, I love Amazon and I love the variety. I will be using Amazon in some of the Google Juice It experiments and just wanted to post the cheque I just receive from them for all those naysayers who diss the Amazon asscate program for it’s low commissions and 3 month delay in payment.

Have you ever read or watched ”The Secret“, off-course you have, unless you have been living in a cave. There is a guy in there who talks about “Picturing in his mind receiving cheques in the mail” and then he started to do so. I wonder if he is an affiliate marketer, he must be, I receive about 8 cheques in the mail every month from various programs, I love it. (£771.58, that’s $1,526.40)

A New Niche (Stepping over to the dark side)

By ”Dark side” I mean “Information Products”, why Dark, well apart from unnecessary overemphasis, In my lifetime as an affiliate marketer, I have tended to stay away from Information products because of the following, personal, reasons:

1. The good ones are overly competitive
2. I take the moral high ground in terms of never selling something I haven’t tried or believe in.
3. Did I mention it was over competitive?

So why the shift, well The Google Juice Experiment needs to cover a wider range of affiliate marketing so I am going to include an information product Niche into the experiment. They are:

• Hinge Marketing Magic
• CB Stampede

Now if you are looking for products and following my blog, don’t try pick the same products or niches as me, well I say don’t ,obviously there are those copy cats out their who will and I have no right to try stop, but thought I’d just ask anyway.

One last thing, I have purchased these products and may choose not to promote one or both as I still stand true to not promoting anything I truly feal adds no value. I will be spending the rest of today going through these products to see if I really want to promote them or not. Will keep you posted.
